Hilariously, for a term that makes people nervous about grammar, the definite article in English is simply the word 'the'.
It may give you an insight into the minds of grammarians that they take a one syllable word and describe it in six syllables.
Indefinite articles are much more complex (just kidding). In English, there are two indefinite articles, 'a' and 'an'.
